COVID Service Robot – Student Crisis Response
In 2020, when the world faced an unprecedented crisis, Zafi Robots transformed urgency into innovation. Within 48 hours, our team – in collaboration with students and mentors – redesigned and deployed a COVID Service Robot to support hospitals across Tamil Nadu.
These robots autonomously delivered food, water, and medicine to patients in isolation wards, minimizing frontline exposure for medical staff. Over 65+ robots were manufactured and deployed under government orders, symbolizing the power of rapid innovation in times of need.
The project gained global recognition, being featured by National Geographic as part of their “COVID Heroes” series, highlighting how local ingenuity and student-led engineering could create world-class impact.

ZAFI Go is a multi-functional service robot with a smart visual communication system, designed to serve water, food, and essentials widely used in hospitals during COVID-19.
